There are quite a few top-tier titles leaving Netflix this December including the likes of the all nine seasons of "The Office," the Back to the Future trilogy, 2018's "Dr. Seuss' The Grinch," "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2," Indiana Jones franchise, "Poltergeist" the Ip Man films starring Donnie Yen and the original "The Witches."

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" was one of the best films of 2018. Actually, it's one of the best superhero films ever made. It's beautiful to look at. More importantly, it's extremely well written as Phil Lord and Rodney Rothman embrace all the different versions of Peter Parker as well as the different versions of the character that have appeared in the comics since his debut in 1962. An Education (2009)

2009 was the first time I attended the Sundance Film Festival as critic. One of the standout films of that year was "An Education," the story of Jenny Mellor (Carey Mulligan), a teenage girl, who is swept off her feet by David Goldman (Peter Sarsgaard), an older, dashing man with questionable motives. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

Joel (Jim Carrey) and Clementine (Kate Winslet) want to forget that they were ever a couple. Modern medicine has given them a way to have their memories erased. As the memories slip away, Joel realizes he still loves Clementine. (Leaving 12/31/20)

Fargo (1996)

"Fargo" was the film that brought Joel and Ethan Coen into mainstream consciousness. They hadn't changed, "Fargo" is something of a black comedy highlighted by an odd mix of small-town characters. It's the story of a kidnapping that goes terribly wrong from the start. Frances McDormand won an Oscar for her performance as pregnant police officer Marge Gunderson. (Leaving 12/31/20)

Her (2013)

I imagine that a lot of us are feeling isolated and lonely. It's just one of the many side effects of a pandemic. "Her" is a film written and directed by Spike Jonze about Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix), a man in the near future going through a divorce who falls in love with an operating system. As technology progresses, the idea of falling in love with Siri, Alexa or Google becoming more and more likely. (Leaving 12/31/20)
