CW18 Primetime Expanding to Sundays as Three New Series join Lineup this October

The new, six nights per week CW18 primetime schedule kicks off October 7th!

The only thing better than five nights of fan favorite original shows from The CW is expanding out to six! Starting October 7th, CW18 will proudly offer twelve hours of all-new programming each Sunday and weeknights from 7-9pm.

Said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW:

It is such an exciting time at The CW. We are thriving, innovating, and now we’re expanding, adding Sunday nights to our primetime lineup this fall. Starting in October, we will have 12 hours of original scripted series on our schedule – more than any other broadcast network besides CBS.

He continued:

And we have five bold, brash new shows for 2018-19: in the fall, a new version of the beloved fan favorite series CHARMED; the inspiring drama ALL AMERICAN; and LEGACIES, set in the world of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘The Originals’; and for midseason, the unique new drama IN THE DARK; and the epic romance ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO. The CW is bigger, and better than ever before, with more quality content and more ways for advertisers to connect with our valuable young audience, on every platform.

The new fall season will once again commence with the exclusive two-night telecast of the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival featuring some of the biggest names in music taking the stage in Las Vegas. Artists scheduled to appear in this year's show include Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, Imagine Dragons, Jason Aldean, Panic! At the Disco, Kelly Clarkson, Kygo, Rae Sremmurd, and more. The two-night event kicks off the new CW18 primetime season Sunday, October 7th and Monday, October 8th from 7-9pm.

The first of our three new series entries set to debut this fall is the high school football themed drama ALL AMERICAN, paired with all-new episodes of RIVERDALE on Wednesday nights starting October 10th.

Spencer James is a rising high school football player and "A" student at South Crenshaw High. But when Beverly Hill High School's football coach Billy Baker recruits him to join his team, Spencer's mother, Grace, and his best friend, Coop, convince Spencer it's an opportunity he has to seize. Now Spencer must navigate two worlds, the south side neighborhood that he knows and the affluent world that has offered him an opportunity for something bigger. When Spencer is forced to move in with Billy and his family to protect his transfer permit to Beverly, Billy's son Jordan is less than thrilled to be sharing his father's attention -- or the team spotlight -- with Spencer. While Spencer struggles to find his footing, he makes an unlikely friend in Jordan's sister, Olivia, who is dealing with her own demons. Inspired by the life of NFL player Spencer Paysinger.

Sunday, October 14th brings two series featuring amazing women who pack a powerful punch. A new take on the sisters three delves into a mysterious world of magic and demons with CHARMED, following all new episodes of SUPERGIRL on its new night.

"Stronger together." That's what Marisol tells her daughters, Melanie "Mel" Vera, and her sister Maggie, about their family. But then, a shocking tragedy shatters their world and threatens their sibling bond: Marisol dies in a horrifying accident. Three months later, another shock shows up at their front door: an older sister, brilliant geneticist Macy, whom their mother kept a secret all these years! With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibits impossible new abilities: freezing time, hearing others' thoughts, and telekinetic powers. But there's a perfectly reasonable explanation...or so says Henry Greenwood when he gathers the three together to reveal they're actually powerful witches, like their mother. It's a lot to take in, but they ultimately accept their new destiny. With the Power of Three, they are stronger together...even if they have no idea what they're really up against.

Finally, the next chapter of stories from universe of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and THE ORIGINALS unfolds on new series LEGACIES, following all-new episodes of SUPERNATURAL starting October 25th.

For the last decade, the iconic heroes and villains of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals have captivated audiences worldwide. They left an enduring legacy of love and family in their wake, which continues in LEGACIES, a thrilling new drama that tells the story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. It's here that Klaus Mikaelson's daughter, 17-year-old Hope; Alaric Saltzman's twins, Lizzie and Josie; and other young adults -- including political scion MG and the mysterious Landon Kirby -- come of age in the most unconventional way possible, nurtured to be their best selves in spite of their worst impulses. Will these young witches, vampires, and werewolves become the heroes they want to be, or the villains they were born to be? As they fight to protect their secret, they will need to rely on ancient folklore and myth to learn how to battle their far-reaching enemies.

These three new contenders will join a lineup packed to the brim with fan favorite series and characters. Mondays and Tuesdays unleash the rest of The CW's DCTV super powers with new seasons of ARROW, DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, THE FLASH, and BLACK LIGHTNING, while Fridays deliver deliciously soapy drama and laughs courtesy of DYNASTY and the final season of critics' favorite CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND.

It's going to be a spectacular new season on CW18 -- now six nights a week! Defy your world...Dare to live in ours.
