Can you believe that Kara Danvers has been saving National City and beyond for one hundred episodes already?! This Sunday, February 23rd at 8pm the Girl of Steel and her Super Friends celebrate their 100th hour of super powered television on SUPERGIRL, and you won't want to miss a moment of this special episode!
The series has delivered plenty of action, laughs, and heartbreak over the course of four+ seasons, and we wouldn't have it any other way. The Melissa Benoist starrer launched the fall of 2015 on CBS, but was renewed and moved to better-fitting home of The CW for the start of season two. The move allowed the show to further embrace its comic roots and vast catalog of DC characters in a way that didn't seem possible with the broader, older-skewing audience on the Eye Network. SUPERGIRL has soared ever since, allowing its plot lines and characters to cross paths with heroes from the established Arrowverse, going as far as merging Kara and company's original CBS Earth-38 with The CW's Earth-1 during this year's Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover Event, creating a shared Earth-Prime with the rest of The CW's universe of DC heroes.
In a special hour this Sunday, the 13th episode of the fifth season will be one to remember. Reno 911 funnyman Thomas Lennon guest stars as DC character Mister Mxyzptlk, an extremely powerful imp from the Fifth Dimension, who is no stranger to stirring up trouble while trying to prove points or teach lessons. In this episode (a take-off of "It's a Wonderful Life") Mxyzptlk returns to National City to offer Kara a chance to go back in time to see if things would work out differently for her friendship with Lena Luthor if she had shared her secret identity before Lex did. The milestone chapter will see familiar faces from the series run return as Kara reviews key moments throughout the series to decide if she should indeed try to change history.
Suit Up and celebrate the 100th episode of SUPERGIRL, entitled "It's a Super Life," this Sunday, February 23rd at 8pm after an all-new BATWOMAN at 7pm on CW18!
